Each breeding we do has a purpose; its not just about producing puppies.
Each breeding is designed to produce a better Boston, a healthier, sounder Boston. Breeding is a step by step process, and each step takes you closer to your ideal. But remember - breeding is a process! you don't get "perfect" dogs right off the bat. It takes YEARS of weaving together different bloodlines and then "setting" desired traits into your line of dogs.
Our ideal is HEALTHY, super friendly, long lived, old fashioned Bostons with enough muzzle to never experience any of the horrors of Brachycephalic Airway Syndrome; a particular set of upper airway abnormalities that affect brachycephalic (short muzzled dogs).
Bostons are a breed that can have many health issues and this need not be. All it takes is for breeders to be serious about making sure their breeding dogs have sufficient muzzle to avoid breathing issues, to make sure they have strong patellas, good hips, elbows, eyes, heart... And this we do.
Over the winter we researching stud dogs and making decisions on what breedings to make.
